Well, we have not posted on here since our honeymoon. Bummer! And the last pics we posted were from our first Christmas. So I thought it was probably time to update it. :)
Brad and I spent our first year married definitely having a lot of fun. The next summer after the wedding we were ableto go on our first camping trip together, just the two of us (and Clyde), to North Fork campground near Randle, WA. I had went there as a child and it was just as beautiful as ever. Clyde loved the trails and the lookout was amazing. We LOVE camping. We had received a lot of camping stuff for our wedding and were excited to go out and just be in this beautiful state we live in. We also went to Arkansas and Oklahoma to visit family. It was good to spend time with family and see more of the Midwest.
The following Fall greeted us both with change! In October 2008 Brad and I both started new jobs (actually having interviews on the same day)! Brad is now working at Providence Western Washington Oncology as a Practice Management Analyst. In short his jobs it to analyze the sytems in place try to make their lives easily as they work from day to day. :) GO BRAD!!!
I started teaching at Tenino High School Freshman History. A teacher had resigned and so my postition only lasted until the end of the school year when they had planned to repost the position for rehire. Although with cutbacks the position ended up being filled with four different teachers internally. But I taught through June 17th and it was a great opportunity and a life changing experience! I taught about 100 fourteen and fifteen-year-olds Washington State and World History. What a trip! :)
So what will I be doing this coming year? As it turns out it was actually fine that there was no position for me to reapply for because on December 5th, 2008 we found out that we were going to have a baby! How exciting! Our little boy (which wasn't until 20 weeks that we found out the gender) is due August 12th, 2009.
Last December was also very eventful besides the new baby news. Nathan, Renee and the kids came to WA for Christmas. It was good to see them. Renee was pregnant with Micah with only 7 weeks to go and I was just 7 weeks along. :)
The SNOW came as well, and a lot of it! Arriving on Dec.17th the snow continued to come down, pile up and really not go away for a couple weeks. This was the primary reason why I did not get our traditional Christmas newsletter out this year. The snow kept us indoors most days, well at least out of cars. :)
After the snow finally passed then came something worse. I'm sure you can probably guess it if you know much about this state we live it. Yep, the flooding! We had to move evrything in the apartment upstairs (this was a lot fun, can you sense my sarcasm?) and the Dad and Brad with several valuable volunteers (THANK YOU GUYS!) filled hundreds of sand bags to baracade my Dad's shop. What a time! We survived the snow and the flood. And actually just recently finished emptying the last few sandbags! Ahhhh...
So like I said Fall greeted us with CHANGE! Well, that can just be the theme for this past year. New jobs, New family member in the making...and eventually a new house! We started hunting several months ago. Made different offers on a few houses that all didn't work out. But here we are in our very own house. We've been in it now for almost three weeks and we are loving it! The pets are too! hehe.
So here we are June 2009 and 6 1/2 weeks until we go on the rollercoaster of parenting (more then a dog that is, lol). We are very excited to see what our future holds. We are both very blessed to have walked into eachothers' lives and to now be experiencing all this together!
Blessings to you all. We hope to continue to update this routinely.
It's amazing, but we actually got up early enough to watch the Sunrise one morning. It was definitely worth it!
Of course, there's more pictures up now too!
